Job Responsibilities
- Lead a wide-range of activities for campers
May include: art/crafts, sports/games, campfire songs, story-telling, nature activities, puzzles and board games, etc
- Assist campers with day-today tasks
Packing backpacks, helping with lunch pales, keep track of swim suits, towels & lifejackets, etc.
- Create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone
- Engaging and participating in all activities to "lead by example"
- Demonstrate positive attitude and good decision-making
- Supervise and be responsible for health and safety of all group members
- Communicate and work together with staff members
- Display strong problem-solving and help find creative solutions
- Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment and space
- Adhere to Camp Connect policies and procedures
- Act as an ambassador representing Camp Connect
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES SHOULD:
- have experience working with children for a minimum of 1 year
- be creative, energetic and passionate about working with children
- show positive attitude and service-oriented mindset
- possess excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills
- have the ability to take initiative and be a confident leader
- be able to problem solve effectively and adapt to changes
Requirements
- be at least 14 years of age
- complete Standard First Aid, CPR Level C & AED certification by time of employment
- provide Criminal Record Check for applicants age 18+
- complete mandatory staff training prior to program start (scheduled in June)
- experience and/or education working with children is an asset
- must be comfortable being physically active, including swimming supervision
- reliably commute to Camp Connect location
Hours & Wages
- $15.50/hour
- Hours are scheduled Monday-Friday
- Shifts are either 6:45am-8:45am or 3:30-5:30pm
